A Shift in Time: Winter 2024/25
New paintings are currently in progress, along with a revisit of the paintings from the 2023/24 collections. The works are mixed media on canvas and presented in non-chronological order. Each measures 2 x 2.5 and 2 x 2 metres.

**Autumn: A Shift in Time** The floor paintings began during the Flaw series in the mid-nineties and continue to this day. This format involves constructing frameworks that support a mix of liquid preparations and other techniques applied to the canvas surface. As they dry, these preparations create tension in reaction to the consistency and temperature of the mixture. This process balances chance and control while also considering the choice of materials. The positioning of the work allows for freedom of movement during painting. Each painting stands alone and is integral to the collection. Various actions are explored, allowing the interaction to evolve freely and naturally. Over time, some paintings are repositioned upright at different angles to let the layers stretch, shift, and gain added dimension. It is intriguing to witness the emergence of the unexpected, which isn’t predetermined, and to watch what happens. At this stage, some paintings are partly reworked or fully transformed.
